Bobby Rush

Bobby Rush is a widely renowned musician and entertainer who has been critically lauded for his creative articulation of musical ideas and brazen expression of visions that none have seen or imagined in a world overrun with soul, funk, reggae and hip hop acts. Known by greats as a remarkable blues entertainer, Rush holds a solid reputation among such celebrated talents as Etta James, Little Richie and The Temptations. With more than half-a-century of musical experience under his belt, Rush has honed a skill set that is as sweet-sounding to the ear as it is visually stimulating; he has learned to make the most of his life experiences as an outstanding on-stage performer, singer and bluesman.

In a career spanning 57 years, Rush has composed and performed music that has brought to life the barebones soul that comprises funk and rhythm and blues. As a musician and entertainer, and member of the Bobby Rush and Blues Band, he has stood out among industry luminaries, while remaining inconspicuous in his splendor. He earned acclaim for his 1971 record “Chicken Heads” which was the Record of the Year—the song beat out one of James Brown’s well-known dance gems. He has received a number of awards for his artistry, and he continues to strive for excellence in his every endeavor.
